I'll never complain about the summer no matter how hot it gets.  It's the winter I can't stand.  The cold is nothing but a form of pain.

+1

People always complain. It's either too hot, too cold, too wet or too dry.

I like the climate in Holland. Sometimes I hate winter, but if it's a shiny, freezing winter day... I just love that!  And the first sunny days in spring, just sheer magic! We even started topics about that here!!! My brother lives in Kuala Lumpur and it's always hot. So no first spring day. i don't envy him!

Fender Basses / Re: Jaguar Bass

I think the sunburst and white versions look much better than the red and black ones and it's a pity we had to wait taht long before these colours arrived in Europe.

I have one problem with the Jag. The J pick ups. They should have made a nice P90 like cover for the pick ups. Or even better: Chrome!

I always thought the Fender name's real stupid. A friend of mine has a bumper sticker on his car bumper, reading: Fender. I always tease him: That's not a fender, that's a bumper.

That's a pity.

I prefer semisolids over acoustic basses. Why? Two things:

- I don't like the looks of acoustic basses. They're all the same to me. I know, that's just my bad opinion;)
- You still need an amp to be as loud as a singer or acoustic guitar, so it really has no use. Of course it sounds different (better?) than a semisolid, but a semisolid is just cool, it sounds woodier than a normal solidbody, so cool for acoustic gigs.

Cool idea.
Using trim tape is a brilliant idea!

There are some guys working on here, if I'm right. Check the topics below.

Someone's even making a bass out of an Epiphone '57 LP Jr. guitar!

Bass Amps & Effects / Re: 'Fess up! How many Behringer Amp Users Here?
« on: August 01, 2008, 01:25:02 AM »
I only have experiences with DIs, which are okay for the money.

The amp above looks a lot like an Ashdown MAG300 and I always wonder if they're made in the same factory? The MAG300 is cheap, so I would prefer that one.

A while ago I tested some small 60W 12" practice combos. Laney, Warwick, Behringer, Line6. The Behringer was the noisiest by far! Much noisier than the others in the same electricity socket.

Do mention DAF!!!

A couple of years ago Williams tried their transmission in a Formula 1 car and it was so fast the FIA banned it. Now you have to have like between 2 and 7 gears, while the VanDoorne (*) transmission has 1 or infinite, just how you see it.
More and more modern cars and manufacturers use it! So we're proud! :D

And of course the truck division ist still going strong, with modern trucks. There was even a little riot in Holland. They were so busy they didn't had time to make trucks for the Dutch Army. Scania makes them now, but there's a Scania plant in Zwolle, Holland.

(*) DAF. Van Doorne's Automobiel Fabriek.

Ibanez has big semisolids, but the brown one is more Les Paul-ish.
