I know it's kinda 80's.....guess that's why I love it. I think he's a little high on the price tho....

Both are nice. The Bird looks a bit like I would expect the Shavobird to look (if it ever comes out). Pricey though - nickel ain't gold after all.
And the eighties are by now so far back, I can even see stripey fins with benevolent grace. I've been toying with the idea for a future refin project - when I first saw EvH's guitar in the late seventies, I thought it looked incredibly cool. :-[

I like the Explorer cos it's just too much. You need matching spandex pants!
The T-Bird is nice. A black guard would look good on that one!
-
Love the silver bird, the Explorer I have seen before.
-
That T-bird is a nice $1500 bass, nothing more.
-
The way I sweat when I play I'd have that silver finish wrecked in no time! It's probably worse than the flat black on the original Blackbirds. You know, the more you play it the more it shines up.
-
It would end up all chromy then!

"You know, the more you play it the more it shines up."
It does, my Blackbird is meanwhile high gloss and the fancy pants GoW satin finish SG Supreme and Les Paul Money have all become shiny too.

You know she stole that pose from me!

You do need a chrome bird and you would be complete
-
Can Mahogany be chromed ???
You're putting evil thoughts in my head John!
-
You can chrome anything, both Billy Sheehan and Joe Satriani have chromed guitars. I know Warwick sells it as an option.
A guy got his guitar body plated, an old article, but shows it can be done.

The surface has to be glass smooth for the chrome to be smooth. So, since my body had dings and dents in it from years of playing, the final job came out with those same dings and dents. Not a big deal when I'm on stage playing, but upon viewing the guitar close up, I think it could have looked better. I could say that since he's done these guitars before, he should be aware of that possibility.

I think the more rounded Thunderbird Studio would be better for chroming.
