this seller sells mostly cars, trucks and parts. he may not have a clue as to the 20/20.

Would have been better if the seller didn't have a clue in the right (i.e. cheap) direction.

I PM'd you. I can't find the reserve from here, you have to be in the US because it's a US only auction.

He does call himself Sklar10. Maybe he knows more about bass than you'd think?  :)

I have chosen to build one by myself. I have a neck, one original pickup, one EMG replacement, Sperzel tuners and Schaller bridge and ordered what I need to complete it. I will spend at last less than 400 € and enjoy the time drawing, cutting, painting, finishing and finally playing looking at the my band mates wondering how can I play Sushine of you love on such an ugly bass. Sure I have my vintage Gibson EB0 and EB2 and my ebony fretboard 90 TB, but making my own ugly bass is priceless.
Note that the help of pals on LBO is priceless.

Could be, but maybe that's just his last name. Lee Sklar is a Californian, this seller's on the opposite coast.

I'd say he knows at least enough to find out what these have been going for.  Maybe he's been lurking here. :)

Basvarken

I didn't mean it'd be Lee Sklar. But a fan maybe. It's not a common name.

Yep, could be a fan. OTOH if he knows nothing about basses, as nofi said, you have to wonder how he wound up with a 20/20 of all things.

nofi

the reserve on the relisted auction is 3500 dollars. that is why he is bass illiterate, imo. :o

Jeez...I wonder what he has for a reserve on the Bass IV he has in that case..

It seems odd that he has 2 NOS basses for sale and neither one has the original case too.  There has to be some odd backstory on how he got these.

Basvarken

Well the Ferrari Red 20/20 is a pretty rare beast. Only 100 were made. This one is new old stock.
3500 is a lot of money, but I can understand why he doesn't want to let it go for 1750.

I didn't notice that he has a Bass IV up too. I doubt he's bass illiterate then, just unrealistic about the value.
