I don't know what the hell happened. There was an EMG select p bass pickup in there. Poor bass. Just remove the truss rod, scarf the headstock, replace the truss rod and fingerboard and fill the cavity and reroute. The rest is easy!!!

Hey Joe,

If it's any consolation your left big toe nail looks way better than mine - which fell off about a month ago  :-\

Oh dear! I guess the strappy, open-toe look will have to wait till next year!

Yep, she's got a new solid cherry, quartz counter kitchen and I could have bought 10 -12 vintage basses!!!  Where's the fairness in that!?!   :-\

Well..it is broken...er..uh..Well...I decided to go and once again Hire Gene Liberty to make a scarf joint headstock and fill in an reroute the body. I can paint it myself at work. I am thinking Inverness Green but finding Dupont Acrylic Lacquer is going to be tough. I have a gallon of white and axcess to a quart of Pelham blue, possibly a quart of Heather Poly. White is out. I'm doing another bird white. "We can rebuild him...We have the technology". I love The Six Million Dollar Man!! 8)

Gene Liberty. I still have the NR that he fixed three times in a year and said he wouldn't do it again. The next time it failed I just glued it back together with Elmers and it was 18 years before it broke again.  I hope his skills have improved in the last 30 years. (Uwe, this is the guy who put the Model 1's in it too.)

Joe, check out Tower Paint. (towerpaint.com) They will mix laquer for you in any color you want.
