I've drenched a few cases in Febreze.  Does nothing for mildew mold.  That fungus has major mojo.

An cleaning and odor removing solution I use is 3 parts hydrogen peroxide (3% solution) and 2 parts rubbing alcohol. If you try it, try on a small area first to be sure it doesn't bleach.
