I found I could always get a good sound with a late 60's EB3 with the minibucker in the mix, I sold my '67 a few years back and have always regretted it.

I guarantee that if I every buy an EB-3, it will be a short scale version.  I tried a current Epi version and found that the ergonomics (relationship of neck and body) and balance were terrible for me.

I have always thought the SG body style was one of the great icons in bass instruments, but I also learned the long scale versions are absolutely not a fit for me.
