The fuzzy pic in the CL ad was what prompted me to offer a trade. After seeing better ones that show the bass more clearly, I wanted to be sure I wasn't just being paranoid. In hindsight, he never calls it a "Fender," but no one else made slab bodied Tele Basses in the 1960's, and why would he value it at only $450 even in non-working condition? A late 60's Tele Bass ought to be worth at least double that, even in rough shape.
Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I believe I'll pass. The 8x10 I was planning on trading IS a genuine Ampeg and it can keep company with its brethren some more.
