Was doing a search on Grabbers and had to reply. I am thinking about getting one, possibly selling my decade to finance it. Would have to put a kahler on it of coarse.

Every thread here ends up below the belt, WWII, or about Mel Brooks.

If you get one, get the Grabber II. As an LP Standard fan you'll be in ecstasy.

I don't know, Uwe... with that little pinkie just waiting to dance on the upper register... looks like a rainbow and mountains on that shirt... all very arty... ;D

I bet you had a huge amp to plug that Grabber into, John. Cause the tiles were coming off the ceiling!

During my recent vacation I stopped by several pawn shops in rural Arkansas.  I did see a '78 Grabber with the smaller tuners for $650.  I was hoping to get it for less to no avail so I passed on it.  Had some wear on back of the neck like it had reacted with a guitar stand.  The neck was super chunky too.  It did have the bridge cover.  Almost bought a late 50's Dano U1 with original coffin case but I really don't play guitar.

Radon gas from the basement walls and asbestos from the ceiling tiles probably influenced his future musical tendencies.

That was my first band and took up bass because they needed a bass player. The place was some moldy basement the guitarist, who owned a record store, rented. Our set list included Thin Lizzy, Rush, that I can remember. One night I left my Grabber there & the place was robbed, my Grabber stolen. The owner, a Puerto Rican, was furious. I filed a police report, never to see the bass again- I thought. Two weeks later the police said they found the bass abandoned in an alley. Never saw that coming-I think the landlord put the word out.

Later I traded it in for this, which I special ordered-I was trying to decide between the RD & the Bicentennial bird -78-79ish.

I went flannel w / mustache and never looked back.

Observe the can of Genesee Cream Ale on the amp.

John looked Grunge before Grunge was invented!  ;D

I haven't had a Genesee Cream Ale in ages. They stock it at Total Wine, but It's been so long that I can't remember if it was any good.

I remember I tried it again about ten or more years ago at it was horrible, really sweet tasting. I remember it being "shooting" them in high school. Only did that once, after barfing my guts out.
