Thunderbird Friendly Stands

Alright guys, I need your infinite wisdom: What seems to be the best guitar stands for Thunderbird shaped basses?

I already own a Hercules 3-way stand, but I'm looking for something more compact for my bedroom.

Ideas?

 This is an On Stage Stand from GC, about $20, seems to the job pretty nice. It has a spring loaded jaw that opens downward to take the bass off.

What greets me every AM.  Certainly cleans up the clutter and safer than most stands IMO.  Hanger on left cost less than $5 for Grizzly, you can buy 10 of them on Ebay for around $40 shipped.

Yeah, I force myself to live with it, good practice.  The other four aren't exactly the same either.

I thought about that, but I live in an apartment complex and really don't want to mess with anything that "permanent" yet.

@Scott: I've owned one of those and while they'd work against the wall and not take up too much room, I'm afraid I might not be able to get it that close to the wall after all.

I "could", but I'm just trying to avoid it. I haven't put any nails in the walls yet, so I'd like to not have to put any screws in either.

i walled in and sound proofed the dining area of an apt. i used to life in. made a nice little recording area and didn't seem to bother anyone. they were shitty apts. to begin with so i wasn't worried about losing my deposit. lots of wall holes and glued in soundproofing on that one.

After careful measuring and calculating I mounted an Oak 1x4 on the wall, then went to ACE Hardware and picked up some Crawford U-shaped padded hooks that screw in to mount.  They are similar but not quite identical to these I found listed on the ACE website:



The ones I have are more of a hard foam padding than vinyl, but you might see what you can find.  Vinyl and the foam would be a no-no for a nitro finished neck, as they're likely to discolor the neck.  I couldn't see spending $15 or more per mounting device.

The result...and note that the U-hooks can be rotated a few degrees when mounting Fender necks to allow for the offset cut on the g string side...
