 Not in Seattle proper, there's no money to make here at any venue, most will give 45-60minutes and no pay before the next band is on stage. Once you leave town there's money to be made and more stage time. The local casinos are usually great places to play, they pay well, 1800.00 and up a night, plus rooms, and food. Most are fairly new with good FOH and support staff as well.

and, yes, the Eagles have never been shy to doctor their Live albums in the studio for release, especially the vocals.

Absolutely. The Hell Freezes Over DVD is doctored to death.
A studio engineer of a studio we once recorded in showed me how Don Henley's vocal has zero bleed from the drums, by disconnecting a few speakers from the 5.1 Dolby system.
It was really funny to see Don basing aways on the drums without hearing anything. Yet his voice was crystal clear. In a real live recording that would have been impossible.

That's the lame "British guitarist reacts" guy. I won't waste my time listening to anything he has to say.

I'm a Floyd fan, but they are the perfect example of a band that is far greater than the sum of its parts. Roger Waters solo work is brutal. That quavering, pitchy voice that is plain ugly to listen to. David Gilmour, conversely, can't write songs. He's pushed too hard at the 'voice of Pink Floyd' angle and tipped into historic revisionism.

When he helped tackle the Pink Floyd 'Early Years' box set, Gilmour got in there like George Lucas and reprocessed the album Obscured By Clouds to sound like one of his warm, overly smoothed solo albums. Stinging lead guitars became syrupy and slushily modulated. Drums become flatter in the musical landscape. I prefer the subtle sand-in-the-Vaseline nature of the original album, as Pink Floyd didn't get to cook it up over months in a top flight studio.

This new Gilmour song sounds like a competent tribute to his early '90s vision of the Pink Floyd sound. It also sounds a bit cluttered to my ears. Too much going on but, weirdly, too little to hold it together. I've listened to it a few times but cannot remember any melody, hook or lyric from it. It just sails past rather too slowly. An old man with a lot of money doing the one thing he knows how to do competently.

Now I don't "hate the f***ing Eagles", but the guy (he's called Fil) in the vid builds an elaborate and compelling case that Henley's voice is canned (and if it wasn't, I doubt the vid would still be up without the mighty Eagles swooping down). I don't discount the possibility that Henley only uses it on some nights when he feels his voice isn't up to it and, yes, the Eagles have never been shy to doctor their Live albums in the studio for release, especially the vocals.

I like the way Fil avoids to scandalize the whole thing, it's almost like he regrets having found out, he's not an Eagles or Don Henley hater at all.
