I have 2 bound-front okoume Chromasonic V bodies that I will be building out on spec with 32" scale conversion necks. It's likely these will be the last fivers I build for a good while, so I'd like them to be memorable.
One will be 3-tone sunburst (3TS) like the Chromasonic VI shown below. The second will be another 3TS, black-cherry sunburst (BCS) like the LP, or another color that's yet to be determined.
What are your thoughts?

Had it been my order, I'd go with either matte/light relic black, high gloss CAR, or bright white with black binding (but only if it's non-yellowing white).

Nice! I've done trans black, white, and CAR relatively recently, but I appreciate the suggestions. I'd like to do something that makes the grain really pop, so I guess I'm self limiting this thought exercise.

I like purple bursts.

I like purple burst as well, especially over lighter woods like ash & alder. I worry that it will not look great (too dark) over okoume.

I like your take on a traditional 3TS.
How did you weather the storm ? I hope things are ok …

Yes, we're about 10 miles inland, 30 miles north of Tampa airport, and 40 feet above sea level. It's all good in my neighborhood. Further up the coast, not so much. :(

Good to hear.
