Wow....played one and fell in love with this thing...they don't come by my way, and it was an order that was placed but supposed to be cancelled...so I grabbed it. Brand new, but 200 less than US prices..which is good for Eastern Canada!!! Well, not counting the 1299 that musicians friend apparently did this past summer, but I was all Gibson guy the past 5 years...not now!!!
What really surprised me was even though I'm not a slap guy, it fit that style beautifully...setup was great!
Pick it up next week.

Congrats and welcome! Seems like a very good deal. Mid blue is a great finish. Post some pics after you pick it up.
They are good for slap, for jazz, for everything really, it's a versatile bass with many useful sounds. And of course it looks like no other bass.

Now I like that, it looks deeper than the Midnight Blue of the 00s.

Yep, looks like Mid Blue is purplish again. Cool bass!

The push/pull knob for modern vintage is REALLY nice. Sounds gnarly thru LittleMarkII /bergantino rig. Color is striking in person...can seem darker depending on the light...that pic is flash bounced off of ceiling.

i actually picked one of those up in tyh MF deal for $1007. I haven't played a ric in several decades, though i still own a couple. This new bass surprised the heck out of me. I really like the vintage/modern push pull pot and i love the new pups. really hot. color is very dark, reminds me of a blue candie apple 68 vette i saw at a show 30+ years ago...
