Perhaps Uwe could pass this concept on to Gibson CS re his double... I'm sure he could find another 7 buyers... ;D

It is a nice idea. But consider that in the example, he's just ordering cosmetic changes, not designing a new instrument or doing any serious modification. The cost of something like that would be a lot more, even if you had seven other buyers lined up.

Cool idea.

They do some limited runs every now and then as well (ones where you don't need to arrange a buying commitment).  The "metallic margarita" tenor guitar caught my eye recently.  Those look fun!

I played a Warren Ellis Tenor at Eclipse Music locally last year. It's wider at the nut than a usual tenor which might not appeal to traditionalists (but then again a solid body electric tenor is unusual in itself). The fit and finish was first rate. Made in Indonesia, IIRC.

I think it's a clever marketing idea.  Now a custom Eastwood HB wouldn't be entirely out of the question……...
