Depends a bit on how nasty the headstock break really looks and how good the repair was.

I have seen this bass a number of times for sale over the years a few months ago it was at a well known dealers for over 2k more than where the auction ended.

Man, it was soooo hard not bidding on that bass. Based on the final price, I probably would have won it, too. I'm working again but it'll take a while before I have that kind of disposable income.   :'( Oh well, at least we have the Bach bass to look forward to!

Same here.  I thought about it, but I've got 4 projects in the works now and I need to conserve some cash for those!  If it had been basket case, I probably would have jumped on it.

You have to figure there is something less than inspiring about that bass in that it keeps floating around.  Or maybe it keeps getting snapped up by one of the baseball card guys.  Either way, time has proven there will always be another up for sale.  And if a decent copy can be made, either a Gibson reissue or something crafted by Bohemian artisans, it will take the craziness out of broken/altered/repaired originals.
Model One and Schallers?  Ish.

You would think with their rarity and the fever which we have for them, they would go for a lot more money. They sometimes go for the same price 70's birds go for.

Ditto that. Prices have been uneven, but there's no shortage of demand. So why does this keep popping up?

+1
It was REAL hard as the saved up $2900 I get fleeced out of on April 15th is sitting in the bank along with another $1k saved up to refill part of my home's escrow account(shortage last year thanks to the local tax gestapo). Just said no. :-\
Come on Bach.
