Allman Brothers' Lamar Williams
« on: May 08, 2010, 04:46:41 AM »
This morning at the station I needed (and felt everyone listening should live with it) an Allman Brothers Fix so I played the 17 minute version of 'In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed" from "Wipe The Windows, Check The Oil, Dollar Gas" and was struck by Williams' bass playing on that version of the track. Fantastic!

Check out "High Fall" from "Win Lose or Draw..."

I was lucky enough to have seen him with the "Sea-Level" spin off during the split years, same years we had "Gregg and Cher", and "Great Southern" - all playing London within a short period of time - '77 to '78
