At least they got Duck Dunn, Bob Babbitt and Jerry Scheff.

Sorry they left out John Lodge of the Moody Blues!

I think Greg Lake is one of the most underrated well known bass players.

Good list, but Dee Dee Ramone?!?!?   Seriously?

Dee Murray always seems to be the one everyone forgets.  Even on bass boards, it's usually a few pages before someone remembers him.  And, I would love to see Gary Thain on one of these lists someday.

I'm glad they got Ronnie Baker on the list.  Some of the greatest lines ever IMHO.

Went to look at the "list", but couldn't be arsed clicking and waiting for 30 separate pages to load.  Is there a summary?

Scan down the page a bit and you'll find a set of compact photos that you can scan left and right easily.

Great! Thanx for the heads up.
Not sure if they're really "unsung" all of them (Geezer Butler, Larrryt Graham, Duck Dunn)

I like the set up of this article: picture, small story about he player, link to the website, soundsample.
Excellent!

Excellent!

That's what I definitely liked about the article layout. I also liked the brief line concerning equipment and what basses each player preferred or used most often, even though they sometimes don't match what's in the photo!

Mars Cowling...

I was playing some Traver earlier today...

What's he doing these days...?

Thought of another one I used to rate... Prakash John...

mars cowling sounds like part of a space vehicle.

if you meant pat travers he is yet another aging rocker who has morphed into a 'bluesman'.

Misspelt Travers (as in Pat)

Meant his bass player, Mr Cowling... saw him a few times but not in over 20 years...
