Here's another one from that gig in the tiny Café Koster.
Just like the other video I posted a while ago this is one of the new songs that we've been writing.
As you can hear we've been steering the Superfloor ship a little bit towards the more bluesy side of our repertoire.

Greetings folks, and nice to meet you all.  Funkster put a trail of bread crumbs out for a couple of us Bassment-Dwellers, thought I'd peek in.

I've posted this one around a bit, in part because the sound came out so well on youtube.  It's a little hippie-country-thing-gtg we do once a month at a local music co-op/piano restoration shop/mini-music academy here in Greenville, RI.  Here are "The Millrats", doing Dylan... thanks for having a listen.

And yes, that's me on bass downstage.

"Whatever we do, it is what it is, and we do it."

Not before time, I guess...

This is something I recorded with a band called Front Page at an 8 track studio in '87, prior to putting all the gear in mothballs...

The bass used was the Peter Cook Custom Thunderbird, then loaded with a Dimarzio MB1 and a Dimarzio P replacement by the bridge (completely forgot about that until I assembled this video from a bunch of old pics) recorded directly into the board, so this is as clean a sound of her as I've got at the moment...

Three of us from this line-up were the bunch that got together for a few gigs last year; this tune is all very eighties but I still like it; one of the best we did...

Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

That bass sounds great: really thunderous!

Here's a desk recording from my blues power trio gig last night at The Vanguard in Sydney (named last year as one of the 10 great music venues in the world).  First outing for my new Dark Star P bass.

That is great stuff, Mark.  Really foward and in your face. Got any more? Thanks for posting it.

I love this part of the site.

I'm getting sick of telling Rob how good his band and playing are..... he has to get a big head sooner or later  ;)

Count, sweet groovin'!

Ken, that bass is amazingly warm and has great presence for a DI jobby. I think I've heard that recording before just without the pics.

Mark D, That is some great sounding blues. The drummer that I do my originals with (Jack Thomson) also plays with Pete Jenkins who has that same blues edge as Richard Madden IMHO.

A singer mate of mine is currently recording an album with his band in the States. He gave me some rough recordings of drums and guitars for one of their in progress songs. I jammed along for a little while and pressed the record button. The results are a bit sloppy and messy sounding but all good fun.

Really quite good... don't get me wrong when I say this but very soundtrack sounding - I listen to a lot of stuff of that ilk and it is something I find very listenable...

Aussie Mark - do you have to subscribe to reverbnation or is it just a UK issue as I just can't get it to come up...?

Bret... that was one of the oldies I sent you ages back - I have some more recent stuff (only on video) but not yet transfered - posted only as a reference to what the Peter Cook sounded like as a clean sound... I have much older rehearsal tapes somewhere from my metal days but I have not seen them in years - lost in the loft... Were you practicing your Geddy on that one...? ;) what did you use...?

Nah, just jamming and over playing as usual  ;) I tend to get a little exited if I'm given too much room  :P
Used the Dean Edge that I picked up for $200 and gutted. Gotoh 201 Bridge, 2 EMG Passive humbuckers from a six string bass and cts pots/ switchcraft jack. The whole bass cost less than $350 and plays great. Ran it through my Ampeg SVP-Pro Preamp as usual and straight into the puter.

Thanks! We have heard that before and it's a compliment.

That's strange, my understanding is that the song link I sent you is public.  Another way to get there is directly into my Reverbnation artist profile.  The music player is on the front page ....
