Curious what that blemish is from between the bridge and the pickup.

That's the mod.

Sweet mod.  I might see if a luthier can do that for me.

Remember, the defect is why Gibson calls it a mod and charges more. That's the Gibson way.

Unlike Fender, who charges more for fake worn finishes

That sorta explains the Firebird X - the whole damn guitar was a defect.

In this case they are actually discounting 100$. Then raise the question if you consider the Babicz bridge an upgrade or not? What I don't understand is why they they did'nt fill the wood defect before applying a solid finish.

Love the color!

Definitely nicer than Inverness, and would improve with a 5-ply black pickguard.

I was thinking it may be light-reflection from the bridge...?

I didn't realize it was less. They're slipping.  ;D

I'm pretty sure it's a defect.

Yes, they miss-drilled. Didn't care to fill to the hole before they sprayed the green metallic. Also did not even out the chipped off area at the right corner of the pickup ring.

The Babicz bridge on that short-lived off the rack TBird they did a couple of years ago was perfectly fine - visually and functionally. You know how there are people in some parts of the world, who feel inexorably challenged by a three-point.

For them, the Babicz bridge was a kind and gentle solution - a hardware affirmative action of sorts.

Of course the traditionalists will scoff, but that was a really good, gentle modernization of the TBird, both as regards the bridge (there, I said it!) AND the Jim DeCola pups. Mine sounds great.

Yes, they miss-drilled.

That's an unfortunate spelling, Rob, raising all kinds of mis(s)conceptions about penetrative force and non-consensual anal sex. Just sayin'.

You always come back to that in the end, don't you?  ;D

You cunning linguist! Especially in the end I do

We had none of this before that train collector guy arrived on the scene. This was a good forum. But then he set those coupling rods of moral decay into merciless motion.

Don't say "train collector"!
