NBD 2021 sparkling burgundy Nonreverse
« on: July 08, 2022, 06:48:53 AM »
Even with some of the non 60s specs on this bass I really appreciate Gibsons effort so I am trying to keep my bashing at a minimum.  I found myself really enjoying my Inverness '21 NR so my wife and son bought me this for my birthday.

But Scott, what happened to your distortion/overdrive fader, did someone dismount it?

  ;D ;) :) :-*

Scott plays clean, you can't rely on anything these days anymore.  :-X

Ha! I'm glad you noticed! I purposely chose the clean Bassman amp model on my Fender Rumble Stage 800 to present a more accurate tonal picture of the bass. Even so it's not all that clean ;D I am magnanimous if nothing else and am duty bound to oblige my followers.

Much appreciated, I've always admired how you reliably end up doing the right thing - after having exhausted all other available options, of course ...

BTW: It sounds great and is - as always - exquisiteley played in your hands.

Pretty 'Bird. Congrats!
The guy who bought the same bass twice — first in 1977 and again in 2023

You're not doing my G.A.S. any favors, Scott.  Sounds fantastic!

Herr Carlston, I've missed you! I was beginning to get worried like you might have gotten a haircut or something equally debilitating.   Gibson's best effort since '76, it certainly sounds more like a Thunderbird than anything they have made since the 60s. George  I installed the Mod Bar you sent me on this bass the other day, nice bit of work it does help with string tension and sustain, I wish I thought of it. For the price it's a good bass. Three small changes would make it near perfect,  a bigger headstock,  60s pickup spacing and a two piece bridge. Dear Gibson is that to much to ask? I can forgive the pickguard shape and 1.6 nut width.
