If were going down a rabbit hole of horrible "country" acts I'd like to nominate Florida Georgia Line as the worst of them all.  If for no other reason than their collaboration with the Backstreet Boys.

I highly doubt he ever had a legit offer for 10K, if he did he's a complete fool for not taking it.  Its maybe worth a few hundred more than a stock one and appears to be in really pristine shape so would be on the high side for condidtion.  It loses points for thos EMG's though, no way that's original to the bass.  I'd pick it up at the right price and put TB+s back in.

Gibson made a few silver ones with no dots like that around the same time but the ones I saw both had small round covers over the pickguard route vs a full size pickguard. I think they were an abondoned signature model?   I'm not sure I buy he had an insider doing it for him vs it was just another test model that made it's way out to the public.

Nothing extreme but outside of the optigrab I like the look of this, simple and clean.  Even with black hardware It looks good  ;D

Not as offensive as most relic jobs for sure but still makes me go "meh", It just ruins it for me.  I want my new guitars to look new and old to look old.  If It had a nice virgin nitro finish and shiny nickle hardware it would be far more tempting.

A few months ago I radomly ended up watching a country music top 20 countdown show while my wife was getting ready to go out to dinner.  It gave me plenty of time to sit through at least 10 of the 20 and not one sounded like country music to me.  If anything they were all circa 1990s hip-hop rehashed with a country accent.

Even closer to this design, but I'm sure it's not american made on the Epi at least.

I dont mind the lowander but I will forever rebel against any new basses that come "pre-aged" or reliced in any way.  I prefer to beat them up myself than buy them pre-battered.

The new embassy looks way to happy to see me, cant do it.

Yep, just those years with the decal serial number got the name,  same case for the grabbers and TBs although I've seen Grabbers from that era that got stamped serials for some reason..those may well have been seconds.

My Hobbit is a 78

Pretty sure that thing is a refin/mod but nonetheless its a cool bass.  The thing that threw me about it was if you look at the cover plate it has been reshaped at the point near the output jack an it appears the old screw hole for the missing section has been filled a cleared over during a refin. Same with the bridge cover screw holes.  The sculpted heel is an interesting mod, whoever built it put some time into it.

edit- i guess he admits all that in the ad.  What do I know, Ha!

Makes me want to watch a Russ Meyer movie  ;D

Eric Stacy later switched to Vigiers and I'd never seen one before.  I pretty much blame him for making me lust after one back then.
