Title: Oh, the 80s...why?
Post by: 66Atlas on January 14, 2017, 10:29:34 PM: Im 100% guilty of having owned a "crackle" finish bass 35 years ago but this one is just wrong.

I know the 80s V gets no love but someone please put this thing out of its misery before It hypnotizes me into growing a mullet and joining a Poison tribute band.

Hmmm, it may have stuck around into the early 90s but its etched into my brain from an 80s Charvel I owned...I'm not proud of it and all photographic evidence has been destroyed.

I actually don't think these crackle finishes are that bad (some are more tasteful than others) - like , who was it, Uwe? said, the finish is hardly the worst thing about the bass.

I actually really like those, but Im guilty of having owned one of those Rudy Sarzo Washburn's so my taste should be questioned.
