Hittin' The Note
« on: November 23, 2010, 03:11:45 PM »
The Allman Bros. Band call it Hittin' The Note when a spiritual vibe takes over & they go into a sort of OVERIDE OVERDRIVE!
Hey~ I just made up O.O. :D

Some guys have used the term Hittin' The Note for the title of their mag.
When Butch Trucks was being interviewed by that mag he described it this way:

"Hittin' The Note is reaching that point where you can't do no wrong. (ooops--That's a Double Negative, Butch ol' buddy) With us, when we're playing music, it's where the brain goes away & the body just does what it's supposed to do, & there's no thot & there's no question, & no matter what you do, it's right. It's getting to that spiritual level where the communication is total, but it's not mental."

Dave Meniketti of Y&T calls it The Zone!
This makes me wanna dig up what Dave has said about being in The Zone.

Any of you guys Hit The Note or go in The Zone by yourselves or with your band?

Once upon a time my bud Steve was playin' thru a Marshall, a Fender Champ & his Line 6 with the Line 6 on echo & God knows what else & he was WAILING AWAY on a Les Paul guitar & I was trying to keep up with him on bass which I COULD NOT DO but at times we MESHED & it was GLORIOUS & TOTALLY SPONTANEOUS!! MAGIC!!

Now if you could somehow chart your way into that territory....
