« on: November 02, 2010, 09:11:22 PM »

A beautiful picture of 2 of the peoples representitives.
The guy on the left is a Federal MP and the guy on the right is The premier of South Australia Mike Rann AKA Nanny.

I dont wish to go down the this vs that politics path and I know that Dave will have his radar twitching but I just couldn't let this picture go with a post  ;D

Is that Sir Les Patterson on the left, next to my wife's former boss?

Its a sad indictment when the real thing out does the parody. The parody of the parody that is Sir Les Paterson is in fact the member for Barton Bob Ellis.

I'm no fan of Media Mike so I guess I should just leave it there. :vader:

Aren't politicians allowed to look knackered and hang loose some of the time? It's a hard enough and unthankful job. (And I don't even have an idea of what these two guys stand for politically, but whether you're conservative or not, everybody is entitled to looking dishevelled and have a drink some of the time.)

Not here, I guess its more about providing fodder for the next negative attack campaign. Glad its over here.

Some context:

The guy on the right is the Premier of South Australia. He leads a Labor party (read leftwing here) who are more ultra conservative and right wing than their opposition the Liberals (Read Conservative party).

Since re-gaining office his popularity has slipped down to about 20%.  It currently seems that the majority of South Australians love to hate him and his party. Labor and Liberal voters alike bag him (put him down). Radio commentators have become relentless to the point that he refuses to go on air with the 2 main political radio journo's. A former parliamentary worker made claims of sexual harassment against him which he vehemently denied threatening legal action which made her retract the claims. He was attacked with a magazine or newspaper by the womans ex husband.

The picture above was just another one of the increasing comedic digs at him.

It certainly seemed to work for Ulysses S Grant.

I guess the difference is what kind of a facade each of these leaders portrayed before the pic was taken. Media Mike has presented himself as the higher moral ground, beyond reproach kinda guy.

Mike is definitely a shagger.  And his deputy, Little Kev tries to shag everything that moves, but he's such an obnoxious knob that all he ends up doing is making a prick of himself.

He was attacked with a magazine or newspaper by the womans ex husband.

I was always suspicious of the supposed cuckolded husband who chose a rolled up magazine as a weapon to attack Rann.  Think about it for a moment - if you walked into a place and saw the bloke who had been rooting your missus, is a rolled up magazine the best you could do?  Really?  I don't think the hubby was too upset about Rann banging his wife, since based on her TV interviews she's a nutter too.  I don't doubt that Rann rooted her, but the hubby's reaction was purely political in nature.
Cheers
