Just finished "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" trilogy, now back to "A History of the Twentieth Century" by Martin Gilbert, part one of three (1900-1933).  Read part two first (with the catchy subtitle 'Descent into Barbarism') so I have an idea of how things turn out.  Maybe that's why I keep falling asleep.

I recommend seeing the Swedish film of "Girl" before the US remake ruins it.

Yeah~ I've heard that's real good & there's a sequel too, right?

The author of The Black Dahlia Files has also written a book called The Last Days of Marilyn Monroe.
I'm gonna get it ASAP.
He states intriguingly in The Black Dahlia Files that Robert Kennedy visited Marilyn the day she died....accompanied by the 2 dirty cops who have major roles in the cover up of the truths of the Black Dahlia murder!!

Yeah, right.

Is there any celebrity drug overdose death that you don't think was a murder covered up by a conspiracy theory?

Wasn't there a book a couple of years back where someone had a whole theory as to their father being the Dahlia killer? That one seemed more likely than some of the conspiracy theory things I've heard. But what do I know, my recent reading list (outside of school reading) has been 'World War Z' and currently 'The Zombie Survival Guide'. But I'm not really trying to learn anything from those.

haha thats funny, here the animal used for that phrase is a Wombat. Also "Root" is an Australian colloquialism meaning  um.... intercourse.

So we say that a Wombat Eats roots and leaves.  Of course being called a wombat obviously reflects this  8)

Conspiracy theories...?

In more than one of the CBI WWII books I'm presently using for my research it is clearly inferring that the British oil interests were pushing Churchill to offer as much assistance to Wingate as he could to recover those oil fields... post the Quebec conference a number of people were surprised at how much Churchill did do to assist...

I'm reading a book that seems like it should be full of drug overdoses but miraculously isn't: Motörhead: In the Studio. It's a decent read, better than Lemmy's autobiography. More technical information, not only from the musicians but also from the producers about the studios they recorded in.

The last book I read was Phil Lynott The Rocker by Mark Putterford.  I'm a huge Lizzy fan and I recommend it to anyone who dug the band.

Phil Lynott The Rocker sounds good & so does the Tim Buckley bio.

Yeah~ Hopefully these won't lead me to believe they were murdered.

I've been studying Liz Taylor & Al Capone bios lately...

They're all modern-day authors writing in the style of Conan Doyle.  Most are well done and very good reading.
