So i cut the belly contour yesterday on my Bachbird. I was a little nervous about it but it came out much better than I thought it would. It looks pretty perfect and I am relieved. I forgot that the Guitar Center by my house had an original 60's NR bird in the vintage department so I headed down there to measure it myself just to make 100% sure. I trusted that "Uwe" gave me accurate measurements but I wanted to make sure that I was actually interpreting what he was saying correctly and the contour is something I definitely did not want to screw up. Thanks to "Uwe" and Rob for the info and advice. I am rounding up some pictures and I will start a new thread documenting my refin/mods. Wish me luck.

"Uwe"

It's a weird name for American ears, I know, but it's neither an acronym nor a handle.  Uwe is my one and only Christian name. Blame my parents!!!

Pronunciation?  I'm guessing Ooh vey...  I got saddled with Cataldo.

Ooh-ve (the e as in "the") is probably closest, but Ooh-vuh, Ooh-vay and You-vee are all acceptable for masters of (only) the English tongue! It's an ungainly pronounciation for any language other than German and perhaps the Scandinavian ones.

I first heard it pronounced back when Uwe Blab was playing Big Ten basketball for Indiana U. in the early 80s.

No, by the e as in "the" he means oo-vuh as in "thuh". Hope that makes sense.
