Really, Mrs 00 scale?

00 is an English derivative of HO scale. 00 =4.0mm to the scale foot, used in the UK because of the diminutive size of the prototype. HO = 3.5mm to the scale foot. Size matters!
I guess some would call what I have a "collection" but if I use Uwe's Gibson basses as an example I'm a terrible collector of HO trains. There's simply way too much stuff in HO so my interests are best served with a very narrow focus, thus keeping a budget and sanity intact. Everything I do is based on a railroad that run from Denver to Salt Lake City in the mid 1970's, specifically in the central Utah desert. So, in that regard my models are a "collection"  ;)
As a hobby it's involved much research, and a constant effort to better my modeling skills (I'm a better model railroader than bass player!) which, especially in the past 2-3 years has improved greatly.  :)

Outdated tape decks as a "thing" to collect, I still have to ask, why?

I don't think they were outdated when he started collecting them.

... also tapes (like vinyl , but less so) have come back.  New releases, labels and duplication companies exist.

Does it help if I say that I take mine out and play with them regularly?  :-*

I'm sure this guy did too.... though in his case I don't think his chosen toys ever entered any tunnels.
