It's funny, I was thinking about trading the 2001 SG for an Epi Classic IV, but I couldn't get my head around swapping a "legitimate" USA Gibby anything for an Indonesian-built bass. A black newer Gibson TBird showed up at the local GC last week, priced at $849 (sans case, IIRC). PLayed and sounded great, but... the finish was split along the bottom edge of the fingerboard (where it is glued to the neck) from the nut to about the 5th fret on both the bass and treble sides. There was also a nasty chunk taken out of the back of the headstock - down to the wood. I envisioned that the bass had taken a dive and impacted at the h'stock, with the shock causing the aforementioned damage on 1-5. No telling what lay underneath, so I passed on that idea also. A day later, this one popped up.
