Title: Fight the Power (or scaring old people, slight return)

Seriously? Howsabout just making instruments legally of decent quality that actual people can afford? Is that too much to ask?

Gibson can understandably be unhappy about the government raids, but the public can also be understandably unhappy about the Gibson price increases.

That's an interesting propaganda piece. Not exactly untrue but leaves out some important facts. For example, it's true that Gibson was never charged but they didn't mention that the charges were dropped in exchange for Gibson's admission that wood was illegally imported. And the wood that was illegally imported was not part of the wood that was returned. Henry is still hedging the truth.

Henry is still hedging the truth.

Seems like there is a lot of that these days.

Well, a used Gibson has the best value anyway....and there's LOTS of options.

And maybe the E-tune stuff is really worth a grand... ;)

Obama forced Gibson to raise prices to survive. I knew it all along.

Just an example of Gibson playing the media for patsies.  Today's reporters couldn't do a decent investigation if their lives depended on it.  I do hope the government doesn't get too involved with basses and guitars.  We'd all be spending hours peeling off warning labels on everything from the strings, to the electronics to the headstock.

Danger!  Danger!  Strings can cause strangulation!  Shock hazard, do not play in bathtub or swimming pool!  Do not swing bass by neck, could result in someone's injury or death!  Caution, illegal wood can lead to illicit sex (you figure it out)!

Sorry, couldn't help myself.   :rimshot:

Not really trying to be amusing.  But the level that those reporters were on reminded me of the way it was reading those Dick and Jane books in the 1st grade.  Could they have possibly simplified things more than that?  It's like a childish attempt to make the whole thing into a struggle between good and evil.
