Nice bass for the money

Looks nice, but the ones I've seen in person were very heavy.
-
As heavy as a maple Ripper?
Look about the same?
How do they sound as well. I also like the Koa body versions
-
Not as heavy as a Victory, but probably in the range of a maple Ripper. Can't remember much about the tone except that I couldn't figure out what all the switch and knob combinations did.

I used to lust after those basses! I remember looking at the ads in Guitar Player - one in particular with Scott Thunes, Frank Zappa's bassist at the time. Now I'm feeling all nostalgic...
-
Glad you made it over Harry, us fusionists have to stick together!
Uwe picks on us so in our odd meters
-
I liked Thunes too. I always wondered if this song was done on a Carvin:

Yeah, yeah it's Valley Girl - but that was a killer bassline, with snarling tone to match!
-
Old Carvins are cool. Theses are very Gibsonish, and they are a great deal for the money.
One of these days I would love to get the dimebag looking XP bass?
-
Found the other carvin here-

Now that's a conversation piece!
