Look like normal TB+ pickups to me. The EB bass has polepieces

Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

Ah I see.

Great pickups by the way. They sound great on the EB. And you can switch to single coil mode with a push/pull knob.
Love the Babicz bridge as well.

Just MHO but this just doesn't look right. Why is it so hard for Gibson to hide whatever pickups they prefer now under correct-looking chrome covers, like they did in the SG bass? Imagine Rickenbacker switching to MM style pickups and BT parts exclusively on the 4003... it will not go down very well, I think.

That $2599 is the street price (what used to be called MAP), Gibson doesn't do list prices any more. $1000 increase in two years? That will probably affect sales a lot.

Someone "explained" to me not too long ago that Gibson had done their research.  They had found that when they raise prices, their sales go up.  I don't know whether he was right or not and I'm not sure how much I care since I personally couldn't stand him.  Also, no matter how much I may like a company, if they're going up a thousand dollars in just two years, I'm probably going to be less likely to buy.

Maybe they'll offer some better colors at least this year.

He's somewhere on the U.S.West (Best) Coast, inspecting wine country IIRC. I expect to hear from him sometime soon. After a Summer of glorious weather it has pissed down rain everyday since the onset of Fall last week  ;)

If I can chip in here, while it doesn't look too bad, the Babicz bridge has to be an improvement (I may retro-retro fit one over a Supertone at some stage).

Price aside, I'm somewhat disappointed that they're only showing vintage sunburst finishes while every six string they make seems to offer a myriad of top wood and colour combinations.  F*nd*r have got that right by a country mile.

The future I come from no longer exists.
