Looks like it's been re-listed with a 2K opening bid this time.  At least its in better shape than that red one at guitar center!

Did someone say Korina?! That's a flying V I would buy...

When I lived in the frigid north tundra of Minneapolis he was known for making random appearances.  Once got lucky enough to be sitting at a latin bar we he and his entourage came in, he took the stage and played for about an hour and half.  I was told he's been known to play for hours like that.  All I can really say is his solos went on forever and were all over the place.....it reminded me of a scene from Back to the Future when Marty Mcfly plays Johnny Be Good to the 50s crowd....you weren't quite sure what you just witnessed but it was somehow wildly impressive!  ;D

and he really is about the size of postage stamp.

Ahh...the Purple Leprechaun, his sightings around Minneappolis were retold as legend when I lived there.

Wow, the second one listed sold for 2k! Wasn't the street price on these new around 1500? I wish my basses would appreciate that much in over 4 years.  Maybe Gibson will re-issue the BFG next  ;D

Scariest metal band I've ever seen.  I may have nightmares.

I see Jesus in the toast.

One egg is insanity, I need at least 3.  And the pistol is more of a formal dining out type of a thing. For breakfast I always have an AR-15 and a machete.

Looks like they relisted it for those who may be chomping at the bit.

Maybe the seller thinks the blurry shots will make the wart covered top appear flamed  ;D

Gibson Basses / Re: G-3 in some new clothes
« on: February 27, 2014, 07:20:02 AM »
i dont know much about G3's but didnt the truss rod adjust at the headstock on them?  So this must have had the fretboard replaced and the truss rod converted to adjust at the body?

The whole thing had to be a ton of work, pretty cool looking but I'm way to cheap to consider it!

The Outpost Cafe / Re: Who didn't see this coming? Kiss RRHOF conflict
« on: February 27, 2014, 07:13:05 AM »
In terms of ANY artist....The only RRHOF (or any one-off award show) performances that I get really interested in seeing are the ones where they do something completely different.  By that I mean guest performers, unplugged, re-worked song versions, medleys, whatever.  I guess if I want to see a groups standard stage show/lineup I'll just get tickets the next time they come through town and see their show in it's entirety.

In terms of Kiss...I really wouldn't be interested in seeing the original or the current lineup. I guess both are just sort of played-out for me.  It would have been cool to see them bring back everyone though.  I'd love to see Kulick, Vincent and Frehley trade solo's anyway  ;D

2 Cellos does some really fun stuff.  There's a killer cello player in the Atlanta area called Takenobu that has appeared on a couple of my bands tracks. He does some really cool/unexpected hip-hop covers during his live shows...trouble is every time I hear him play I feel completely inadequate as an upright player!

I'm not a 100% sure but I dont think the '62 EB-0 got over a grand the first time it was listed.  Kind of a cool "time-capsule" piece but I cant stand auctions that dont have good clear pictures of the back of the headstock so you can tell if it's been cracked or not.

I was more shocked when I saw what an original plastic cover was listed for...3D printer might be a good idea! :o

The Outpost Cafe / Re: My Stolen Steinberger- Legal Question
« on: February 18, 2014, 12:42:52 PM »
I've definately heard of people getting property (including guitars) back many years after the fact.  Did you file a police report 25 years ago? dont think you mentioned if you did or not. Personally, I would go back to the department you filed it with and let them know you've tracked down the item and go from there.  Not sure what they'll tell you about the neck vs body.  Guess it was stolen and then parted out?  Sucks either way.
