Stay Safe Gonzo!
« on: February 27, 2010, 02:45:28 PM »
I've been reading about the earthquake in Chile and tsunami warnings in the Pacific all day and hoping Hawaii makes it through with as little impact as possible. I'm thinking of you and yours, Gonzo (and sending good thoughts/prayers)! I don't know where you're situated on the Island, but I hope it's far away from any impact.

The devastation in Chile is heart wrenching. Here's hoping that they can get through this as well...

A bud of mine on Oahu just alerted us to this on another site.
Hilo was s'posed to get the worst of it, but so far there's only been 3 foot waves. :D

Gonzo & all my other friends over there are gonna be fine.

Let's hope so. It's really too early to tell, though.

Thanks for the thoughts guys!
All of us were safe here at 1,500 feet up.

I did lose a sub wedding reception gig today
that was scheduled to be right across the highway from Hilo Bay.

Sucks that I did all the "work"
then didn't get the chance to "play"
(and get paid!)
but better safe than sorry, I guess.

Definately not a good day to have a wedding reception on a sub ;)
Glad everything is OK :)

The east coast of Australia was on alert as well.  All we ended up getting was a 2 foot surge.
Cheers

Turned out to be a false alarm, so now people are pissed due to the evacuation costs.
