Belated Spookiness
« on: November 04, 2009, 05:27:09 PM »
My two sons and I were having fun making some creepy sounds on the synthesizer the night before Halloween.  After they went to sleep, I put up a cam and recorded some stuff.  Nothing musical, just things that go bump in the night...   Mwa ha ha haaaa haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Be patient- it really starts rockin' out at around 1:10 when the creepy wind noises come in!

(yes I'm easily amused, and this is technically the only time of the year I can make creepy wind noises without clearing the room)

Ah, a new Tangerine Dream album!

I did not know you lived in India doing Microsoft Tech Support?

Cool stuff. I would not want to have to rewire that. Love the creapy lighting, that somehow reminds me of Mark.

Wait.. my legs weren't showing were they?   ???     ;D

That was a nice piece, Uwe.  It's no ELP "Love Beach", but it will do..  ;)

I enjoy some of those ambient/electronic works.  I "discovered" Cluster not long ago, and love the way their music just takes a simple cyclical motif and allows it to naturally evolve...

The Tangerine Dream clip reminded me of them- they were/are another group from out of the krautrock scene.  Talk of that music here and at DP is what got me turned onto it and listening.

Speaking of, there was a good BBC documentary recently on this subject-

      http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00nf10k

It saddens me that BBC's site doesn't allow video steaming to us yanks.  Can't we all just be friends?  .  Thankfully, the  content always seems to have a way of appearing in other places:

Part 1:  http://www.progdome.com/player.php?catid=42&subcatid=&vid=519&videoDisplay=Krautrock1.flv
Part 2:  http://www.progdome.com/player.php?catid=42&subcatid=&vid=520&videoDisplay=Krautrock2.flv
Part 3:

That kraut electronic stuff has proved pretty lasting. I hear a lot of it in modern instrumental snd even non-instrumental dance music - they've just put a quicker beat underneath it.

So in a way Tangerine Dream and Cluster are to blame for this:  :-\

I thought they were pretty cool too, Bryan...

Sorry about that, Al... a bad mistake to make on a (4 day) training course and an enclosed room, too...  :o

Nice music, goes a bit in the Neu/Michael Rother direction.
