do you think it would fit in a chrome  or gold gtr size cover?if so i would be tempted to heat some wax in to the inside(to stop microphonics)and stuff it in there.

as for as suggestions for a rear pickup to work well with a mudbucker, ive tried a few now and im currently using 2 carvin blade single coils (one rwrp)wired as a humbucker and this works well..i reckon you need a bit of attack and presence, something the mudbuckers not famous for... anyway as its a standard gtr humbucker size i could put a chrome cover on it but i have resisted the temptation so far.

it kind of begs the question- why?i dont think that jazz pickup by the bridge would be all that usefull either.is the 3 point bridge crooked too?its a shame really.

Bass Amps & Effects / Re: does anyone here use 18 inch speakers
« on: September 25, 2009, 03:50:06 AM »
oh yes the 18s are punching below the belt for sure..i tried it at rehearsal and i liked it a lot, thats  one 300 watt jbl  mr 818 cab so im going to recone the other one and try two 18 inch cabs on the bottom end and my 4x10 on top.i moved the crossover frequency up to around 2-300 hz ,this helped a lot.also im now just using the warwick power amp to drive both cabs, i have retired the marshall valve power amp because i can get a bit of grind if i want it from my ampeg preamp and its one less thing to transport.obviously this is a primary consideration if im contemplating dragging 2 huge 18 inch cabs to gigs but hey i like it what can you do?
