Moe's slapping was more musical than most slap-happy bassists.

Spacing is tighter than I remember.  I guess playing 5 strings with 18 and 19mm spacing for the past 10 years spoiled me.  I'll give it a few more days but I may be taking it back to Guitar Center if anyone else is interested in it.   Came with the original case and the brochure with the serial number.

Thanks Uwe!  I was mostly wondering about the spacing at the bridge.  I was thinking 16.5 to 17mm.  I don't recall it being as tight as my Epiphone non reverse 5 string Thunderbird bass!😂

Does anyone know what it is off hand?  I had one in the 1990's but never checked.

Herbie had his E string detuned much lower than D.  Perhaps I should have said "among the first to employ the technique on a US top 5 hit."  :)

South Austin Music has a '64 II for sale but it is pricey.

If you pan this one in stereo you get a clean channel on one side and the reverb sound on the other.  Maybe one of the first times a bassist had detuned the E string?  I know Anthony Jackson also did this on the Billy Paul hit "Me And Mrs. Jones."

The Bass Zone / Re: Prince....playing a live bass solo
« on: May 01, 2016, 06:06:24 PM »
Eddy States that he was at Abby Road Studios when The Beatles were recording Abby Road, not at a George Harrison recording session and that he saw Clapton record the solo.  Do you have any photos of George playing the solo or are you just going by what was recollected years later and put in a book?  Pete Best played on 6 tracks that were included in the Anthology series and because of this he was able to collect royalties.
