Ouch! 11k, that's nuts. A refin 50's EB1 went for 1,000 a few months ago.I was wondering about the lack of purfling lines on the Olivia's bass. Seems odd that Gibson would have been so inconsistent about leaving them on or off at the factory.
Were all the reissues made by Norlin? I think they just took over that year. I'd imagine the majority of people making the instruments were still hold outs from Kalamazoo at that time.

I figured it was a refin. It's so pretty. Didn't know there were reissues. When were they made and what would they be worth?
They were mostly made in 1970 even though the serial numbers (one of which is remarkably well intact for a refin on the bass in the original post) can indicate 1969. The reissues tend to go for less than the original run EB/EB1 basses from the fifties. Over $3k is on the high side for a reissue.
