Just goes to show what an idiot Ted has become. Further proof is his newest album - who except him would get Derek St. Holmes back on board, yet relegate the guy with the superior voice to just singing one song on the new album?

It's pretty much always been about Ted.  When Derek joined up the first time, his mother said that Ted was going to be pushed, and that Derek would be the one to restore his place.   Ted is his own worst enemy, from my point of view.  Wonder how long it will be before Texas disowns him.

Agreed. I recall a article in Creem back in the 70s where the writer opined of Ted that there were "many who would like to shoot and mount his mouth". His unwillingness to give a bigger piece of the pie to Derek may indeed have been damaging to his career - but then there's Damn Yankees...

Just to go back to my surreal Canadian Aboriginal Peoples casino experience with Ted, the gig was solid musically, and he did have the guitar player from Whitford-St Holmes with him.  He was solid, and he got to step out front.  Very solid.

In fact, of the guitar characters I've seen over the last couple of years, Derek and Brad Whitford both stole significant.  Brad Whitford eats Joe Perry alive these days.

I can't buy the Ted is racist stuff though. He can't stand Obama but that gets thrown into the line of thinking that all critiques are racist. But maybe it is.  I can't buy the leap of logic.

Say what you want about Ted's talent or his mouth, but as long as the pathetic Kid Rock is around, Ted's certainly not the worst thing out of Detroit.

Aren't you forgetting Marshall?  Some might offer Jack White.   :o

The four in a row from the Discreet releases to FFA are great recordings, and a few here-and-there were interesting - saw him a lot during that era so got to see Grange and Kiswiney (with a Gibson), and even saw him play 2 shows back-to-back at Hammersmith in support of the World Wildlife Fund (go figure!) and he never disappointed - part of that show was released, but not the bit when the PA failed, so rather than go off and wait a mike was plugged in somewhere and just him and the guitar playing some new material (Sweet Sally?) - he's an entertainer with a mouth... never did Ozzy any harm, nor Uncle Frank... I know he's an a'hole but there's a darn site worse in the world...

I thought we established the Pontiac Aztek was the worst thing to come out of Detroit  :o

I like Detroit! First city I got to see in the US and it struck a chord (maybe because I am from an auto family too).

The most recent hommage to the city is this here:

Not just a love story between the two vampires, but also one to Detroit. Lovely film.

How about Kid Rock driving a Pontiac Aztek?
