I hear you, sister. Free services are great in that they're free, but you also don't have much leverage. For important things, I like to pay for them. I use FastMail for email, for example.

Damn. Last time I saw him live was in 2014, on my birthday. Not sure if he was sick yet, but he didn't seem well. I thought maybe it was that he just wasn't aging well, since it wasn't often I got to see him.

Wow, I didn't know about the second round of cancer. Best to her. I'm incredibly sad about Grant Hart. I'm a huge Husker Du fan and didn't even know he had cancer until waking up to a message from a friend this morning telling me he'd died.

If you've ever been to St. Vitus bar in Brooklyn you may have crossed paths with the bass player who ran the front of the house sound there. Nick Cageao played an Aria explorer bass and they're supposed to be making his own signature model of it coming soon. Marty Friedman, formerly of Megadeth dug them so much he guested a solo on the title track of their new album War Moans. Totally worth checking out.Cool. I haven’t yet made it to St. Vitus. Not sure that studio existed when I was in Salem. I moved back to NY in 2000.
