Now your talking my language... ;D

Concrete took a bit of time to dry but off out to get the lino down tonight...

Sad but true...  ;)

Dave & Al... I remembered trying a Mustang a friend had years back, 75/76 or so, but I had an EB2 copy at the time and definitely preferred the copy - probably the neck profile... maybe I'll get the chamce to try a short-scale again some day...

Also Al, in the interest of full disclosure, I'm gonna have to post my 12 string in the guitar section, then try and seek absolution from the "Masters/Meisters..."  :o

Neil Young has a lot to answer for...

As did Mr Blackburn, with "it's better to burn out than fade away", which NY converted...

George... The pups (one died during a "mod" - the other is around, somewhere) were/are Peter Cook Customs, gold plated, like the rest of the hardware, and the only other time I have ever seen them were in John Entwistles basses made for him by Peter Cook, the one that sold for $30,000+, red/yellow vaguely jagged paddle shape, is one - it is on one site but can't get link at present, slow site... vaguely like chrome T'bird pups, but with 4 adjustable poles... I did not think that much of them, which was why they were outed...

That "was" his site, but his partner bought him out years ago - he has long since disappeared off the radar...

I've had her since the 70's and was told she was built around '72, but that may be wrong...?

I know he definitely made 2 6/12 double neck Firebirds but his instruments are so scarce, I have only ever seen one other live and never seen another bass, other than Entwistles...

An ad executive (UK?) genuinely pitched "Nothing Sucks Like Electrolux Sucks", not realising the alternate connotations of that expression to Americans...

My wife's late uncle would occasionally comment about "road kill" as "good eatin', boy"... I suspect he would have used the SC-paddle as "fire-wood" for his "road-kill stew" ... including my squirrel...

My (paternal) grandfather spent almost all his working life at sea (approx 1900-1954), lost a ship in WW1 (RN) and WW2 (MN - Bass Straits - first vessel lost in Oz waters) - he couldn't swim a stroke...  :o

The old seafaring folk were quite straightforward when it came to deep water - let it be over quick...

I'm not so crazy... maybe... Is that pool heated...?

Nice option for a retrofit on a "P", but still pricey... For those with a true ear for the sound they make (ie not L.O.U.D.H.M. , maybe jazz players, session muso's) I could understand the requirement for such finesse, but never having played one...

How many owners on board the LBO can offer an opinion... purely curiosity, as I doubt I would ever have the spare "readies" to own one, even a retrofit neck... I could buy a couple of reasonable budgets for the cost of just a neck...

"Road worn" ... !?!

That's more like the paddle I lost whilst up sh*t creek a few decades back...  ;)
