Im 100% guilty of having owned a "crackle" finish bass 35 years ago but this one is just wrong.

I know the 80s V gets no love but someone please put this thing out of its misery before It hypnotizes me into growing a mullet and joining a Poison tribute band.

The finish isn't even the worst feature on this bass. Those crude pickup holders. The PJ combination horror. Not even mounted straight.
-
Wasn't that a 90s thing tho?
-
That poor bass has varicose veins. Don't make fun of it.

Hmmm, it may have stuck around into the early 90s but its etched into my brain from an 80s Charvel I owned...I'm not proud of it and all photographic evidence has been destroyed.
-
I'm grateful to them for pointing out the "blemishes." Never would have noticed them otherwise.
Kind of like pointing out that a demolition derby car has a taillight out.
-
I hope whoever leveled the frets isn't the same guy who couldn't mount the pickups straight.
-
Now imagine if this crime had been committed on a sensible bass.
-
Look, maybe this used to belong to the dude from GWAR. Makes sense in a monster rock band or anything remotely Rat Fink inspired (aesthetically speaking).
I actually don't think these crackle finishes are that bad (some are more tasteful than others) - like , who was it, Uwe? said, the finish is hardly the worst thing about the bass.
-
Hadn't heard Rat Fink mentioned in a while...brings back memories...

Anything you do to an 80ies Explorer is an improvement.

I wish they were 34" scale, I'd totally dig having one of those crazy black and white stripped ones.

You wouldn't be heard among all that Nasty Hobbits racket!

I actually really like those, but Im guilty of having owned one of those Rudy Sarzo Washburn's so my taste should be questioned.
