Well, as much as I hate to do this I'm going to test the waters. I've been hit with a few shots financially this month (and still have more coming I think) and I am posting my LP Standard bass up for sale. It won't break my heart if it doesn't sell, but I need to at least try. It's a very nice bass in very good condition. The details are:
1995 Gibson LP Standard bass
Honeyburst finish with creme (tan?) binding
Chrome hardware/Warwick bridge
2 TB plus pickups (chrome)
Bart preamp plus active/passive bypass
black hardcase (not sure if it's a gibson case but fits like a glove)
weighs 10.8 lbs on my digital scale
The bass is in great condition and looks like it's gone unplayed for most of its life. The only real flaw to me is that the fret ends have poked out at the sides and you can feel the slight rise around the edges. Doesn't affect playability at all. It's a great bass to play and it can get VERY aggressive with the preamp. I just had a push/pull volume pot installed (by our own Chromium) so that it can be played passive as well. It sounds great either way. (I had considered removing the preamp but thought I'd try the push/pull first) If you want more info/details feel free to ask. I've asked Joe (Chromium) to add his thoughts on the bass as he has played it several times since I bought it.
I'm looking for $1100 shipped in the lower 48. Feel free to make offers but please don't be offended if I decline. Thanks for looking.
Andy
