my new guild!

How excited am I! :o

Look what I just won
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330374944881

Unexpectedly I might add. Definately thought i'd be outbid.

The only problem is it is USA shipping only, and I told the seller i'd find a US address to send it to. That was half an hour ago, before I had a chance to ask anyone.

So, does anyone fancy doing me a favour? Obviously i'll cover all costs, and you're welcome to have a go on it. Damn, i'll even buy you a set of strings for your efforts  ;)

(on Armistice Day) where are the Americans when you need them...  They usually step in to save the day... ;)

Very nice!  It is a short scale bass though.  Someone asked the seller a question and he posted that it was 34 inch scale.  That is even better than my EB-3 score!

You got it for a reasonable price, the early two Hagstrom pickup models don't come up as often.

It must be Guild Week - though your original Jet Star rather upstages my reissue Starfire.  :P

That does look nice. When they did the Dearmond Jetstar they turned it into something really ugly, whereas the Guild is just different enough to be interesting. The natural one looks good too.

Good luck with bringing it back to the UK. Looks like there's plenty of help on call.

The DeArmond Jetstar is a reissue of the original mid-60s Guild Jetstar with the Gumby-shaped body.

This bass, with the later Gibson-inspired body, may have been called Jetstar at first but I always knew it as the JS. The 1970 Guild catalog on Jules' site shows it as the JS.

Gumby.  ???

You see, we never had anything like that in my repressed English childhood. The nearest we got was Muffin the Mule.

(I only bring that up so Uwe can accuse me of peddling filth again.)
