Title: Martin electric bass

Is that pickup a Dimarzio? FWIW I have seen those in pawn shops with $1000 price tags, but they hung there for a looong time.

Ha ha! Yeah, I remember those from the early 80s when the hippie sandwich was all the rage. (OK, I still have my alumi-Kramer. Actually just used it for two songs on a session yesterday in it's current fretless form. ;D)

I sold a few of my basses and got this in the other week. It is from 1976. I told my wife, "Honey, if I sell 3 basses and buy an Alembic Series 1 with the money and we'll have $1,000 left over would that be ok with you?" And of course she said yes! ;D

Don't bother playing it - just a pic over a low quality recording...

I do have my own colour pic of JAE with this bass from the gig, but I was not that close and it is pretty grainy, which is why I have not posted it...

Post by: Basshappi on December 07, 2009, 12:55:44 PM: I remember when the Martin solidbody guitars and basses came out. They are well made and decent sounding instruments, stylistically they just didn't cut it. Still at that price, not bad.
