Y'know, I would never have heard that if you hadn't pointed me there, but it's kind of compelling!
My wife wouldn't listen to it for 30 secs, but I listened all the way through. That bass player has serious chops....and the engineer is doing some radical sound processing! But contrary to much of the sound processing you hear today, I'd call this "honest", because it's out front and it makes the sound.
