Title: Floor monitor/wedge style bass bottoms?
Post by: gearHed289 on March 31, 2010, 10:11:32 AM
I know SWR used to make a 210 in this style. Don't remember the model number. Anybody know of any others? I'm thinking of building one, but wanted to see if there is something that already exists. ?????

Ampeg did one recently (2X10), I think it was endorsed by Wooten too...

Ampeg Pro Neo 210.  Same basic cab design as the BXT "Wooten" cabs but with Neo drivers and slightly different cosmetics.

Somebody needs to design one with some kind of anchoring system for an amp head. Kind of in the vein of the old Fender tilt-back cabs / heads.

Mesa made the Buster 2x10 200 watt tube combo like that. It had a pair of EV speakers and sounded really good for what it was. I've also seen a few Trace Elliot wegde 2x10's over the years. IIRC, SWR also used to make a 2x12 in that configuration as well to pair with their Bigfoot 18" cab and they both used Bag End drivers.

Cool. Thanks for the help! I agree about the head anchoring system. I could easily fabricate something in the case shop to do that though.

You can probably buy some Fender hardware on-line to anchor the head . I never shopped for such a thing  but I'm sure it would be available for the price of an arm and a leg ;D.
