I think that we might see a resurgence with all the "social non-distancing" of late.

I'm expecting that fairly soon so my patterns of keeping distant from people and washing/sanitizing my hands so much they crack won't be changing. While I may be a healthy 31 y/o, my mom is right in the high risk area of 60+ in addition to breathing issues that already have her doctor suggesting she be on oxygen 24/7. She's lucky if her O2 levels reach 95% so yeah. She's been in lock down and I've become even more hyper aware of what I touch than before all this.

Hey Dave. I was wondering if my resurfacing would be noticed. I kind of just fell off the grid in terms of visiting here as I haven't played in years.

The doors were welded shut so the way in is through the sunroof. I think it could work if they cut the bottom off the doors and made them into either gull wing or lambo style doors.

I am a little late to the discussion but had never seen this clip from Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader before now. I really wouldn't be surprised if she is just putting on an act similar to Daniel Whitney with Larry the Cable Guy. Either way, there are plenty of people out there that are at this level in reality. For example, it is rare but I actually come across people my age from time to time that believe that the Earth is bigger than the Sun.

There is definitely a problem with ignorance on varying levels. Personally, school felt like a waste of time to me so I did the minimum even though I could have easily done well. It was a mistake on my part and there are plenty of others that have fallen into that same trap but I think a bigger part of the problem may be technology in a way. I will be 24 next week which puts me at the start of this generation where computers and the internet has readily been available to us. There is all this information at our fingertips and what do we do with it? Push it aside to watch cat videos on Youtube. Youtube is one of those things that is great for was it was made for but has been used for the wrong reason. There are some good examples there with all the cat videos, the guy jumping onto the frozen pool, and

The video of the guy and the frozen pool opens up a whole different problem with common sense. I could probably go on but it is best that I stop there.

Oh yeah, someone else has noted (probably not that new news) that they've found some more Mayan tablets that note the 22nd December being the start of a new era - maybe not Armageddon after all...

I hadn't heard about the new tablets being discovered but I am not surprised. The Mayan calendar is based on cycles and one person got the wrong idea from what it said before spreading it to anyone who would listen.

Sounds like marketing for the film cost them a hefty $442.6 million...

Growing up in the 50s we didn't have 30s nostalgia shows or acts. OTOH if your parents or grandparents loved music, you got exposed to a lot of older music. I know I did.

Similarly, I get up listening to oldies since my dad took control of the radio and always had it set to K-EARTH 101. It was a time before iPods and MP3s and while I did have a portable CD player, I rarely used it since I didn't have a lot of CDs.

Edit: I just thought of something I want to add to this thread. I have gotten into the habit of watching TED talks on my iPad instead of finding meaningless TV shows on. This talk by Sir  Ken Robinson came up for me this time about a learning revolution. In it, he makes a point to ask the audience how many of them are over 25 and how many of them are wearing wrist watches. His point behind that is that people under 25 don't mainly because they don't see a reason to since this is the digital age now.

I saw Captain America tonight at a midnight showing with some friends. Really fun movie with a lot of laughs and a lot of action. The after the credits scene is more a of a trailer for The Avengers next year and so far it looks like it is going to be awesome as well.
