Hippie country music got me into country music in the first place...

Pure Prairie League and Emmylou Harris are still favorites of mine....and I used to love to hear Earl Scruggs and his boys when they came to town...

My country music collection is a Chesney-free zone.

Don't know that I've ever heard Kenny Chesney...I tend to listen to players...rather than singers...

I do like Brad Paisley...he sure can play and sing.

I've always thought Chesney looked like one of the big guys in the group jammed his hat down until his ears stuck out sideways.

Well, doppelgänger IS a German word.  Hmmmmm...

What I wanna know is who is the guy in Uwe's profile picture?  Is it Uwe in a previous rock star life?  Kinda looks like Mick Mars to me.

That is me around 81/82, my beloved Kramer XKB-10 "Flying Broom" and the Farrah Fawcett T-shirt date the picture! Some "Unleashed in the East"-era-JP influence there too, I was a big fan of Rob Halford's gay biker look back then, weren't we all? The sideburns are more Saxon/NWOBHM though! Back then I was absolutely unaware of Mötley Crüe, I first heard of them around 1984 or so.

Has Edith seen that pic? Or have you been keeping it in a secret vault?

Awesome!  I wish I had looked half as cool at that age!  The XKB-10 was a radical looking bass, how'd it sound?  I'll bet that aluminum neck felt pretty uncomfortable on those chilly German nights.  And I'm not one of those "living in the past" types, but old Priest still rocks!!

This is the first pic I've seen of you at this age!

Why in the hell did you grow up?!

I had a Kramer V just like this one about that time, it was a backup to my 4001 Rick, that bass redefined the term "neck dive"!

"Why in the hell did you grow up?!"

I traded in fleeting youth against permanent inmaturity, it seemed like a good deal at the time.

Looks like a Hiwatt behind you...
Goggles AND handcuffs, eh?
Question: How did you manage to tolerate a bass with not only chrome hardware, but a neck and headstock made of shiny metal?

 ;D

     I really can't argue with that, being a 53 y.o. child myself.
Odd thing is, I remember when my late father was in his '50s, in recollection he seemed so adult - what the hell's wrong with me?!

Well,if helps any, you were a cutie  ;)

Funny how that works. I remember how old my grandparents seemed when I was growing up, and that's when they were younger than I am now.

He went hunting for elk and built a garage for his pickup, adult stuff  ;)
