Ouch. Seems like the Colonel has rather antiquated views on German celebrations. A shattering mishap.

Classic example of not only lack of cultural knowledge, but incredible stupidity and insensitivity in the creative process and reviewing promotions before they go public.

Is everyone at KFC 12 years old????  An ad agency ought to lose the account over that one.

This is totally inexcusable.  Although it occurred because of stupidity, it is still sickening.

Well, if they feel they don't have the means to have human control over their PR stunts, they really have to have human control over their computerized algorithms controlling their PR stuff. Please do ad this to the other mishaps generated by our time's overexaggerated faith in leaving everything to IT technology. Spread the word to all other companies relying more and more solely on computers. If this was in fact a real human error then simply shame on you.

“a fault in our system”... yeah, right.

Astonishing incompetence.

This can happen when there's an automated system linked to a calendar.

Wait for them to make a similar offer on the anniversary of Hitler's suicide....

I can't believe that no competent human being reviewed this before it went out.  I bet they plug that little hole in their system before it's used again.
