Pic of the setup from laying the 7 tracks down...only the NR was used in the end.  Went great, and everybody was digging the tone we got out of 'er...

Nice pic!  My band was in the studio and month ago and I snapped this with the phone

I ended up using the NR on 7 of 8 tracks.  Studio was kind of a dive but it all worked out and couldnt be happier with how the bird sounded.

Sweet - I actually sold my Ric for $$ on the NR.  Part of me missed the Ric, maybe another one someday.  I think I miss the idea I had a Ric in reality, because it didn't get as much use in a year as the NR has since the summer.

How different does the NR 'bird sound from the reverse?  Are they of similar vintage and similar set-up?  What were your settings with the pickups?

It's almost hard to describe, but I'll try.  The NR I would describe as tighter sounding in the mix, and more balanced from low to high.  Where the reverse 'bird seems to have a lot more zing/scream in the high, and more boom/woof on the low.  Perhaps just a "hotter" sound.   The neck and body on the NR are beefier too, where the reverse has a sleeker feel overall.
