Elephants Memory
« on: August 18, 2009, 06:30:51 AM »
on the subject of Lennons bands (previous thread), anyone know Elephants memory?

In particular a song they did called Jungle Gym at the Zoo (it was used in Midnight Cowboy)

As far as I can tell the bassist was a guy called Myron Yules (he seems to have left before they backed Lennon) - such a fantastic song, and a crazy bassline. This song has been in my head for decades now, yet is SOOOOOOO underated in my opinion. It isn't even on youtube.

when i saw elephants memory they had two bass players. that could account for many crazy bass lines.

ahh excellent

Yeah, the whole song could have turned into an overplaying mess, but because they did it so tightly, the result is fantastic.
